Over the many years of having the privilege of sharing in the private lives of adults, adolescents, and children,
I have had the benefit of learning and expanding my world through their eyes and experiences. This is a very rewarding
profession: Seeing someone come in sad, anxious, stressed and almost hopeless, and then seeing the same person leave
having reduced the burden of carrying it alone, feeling relieved and hopeful is a tremendously uplifting experience. As
a therapist, my responsibility is to listen to you, to put my years of knowledge, training and acquired perspective at your
service and sometimes, be supportive and other times, be the devil's advocate. I will not have answers because I
do not walk in your shoes, but by the same token, I can be objective so you are free to run all thoughts through your life
filter, accept some, modify others and reject the rest. Therapy, which in essence is problem-solving, does not
go in a straight line. It takes time, dedication and perseverance. Especially in relationships, unlike the "They
lived happily ever after..." myth, there are ups and downs. Whether between a couple, a parent and child, friends
or colleagues, solid relationships are formed when people get through the hard times together and reach compromises. If
you will allow me to be with you in this journey, I will walk with you, sometimes in front of you, sometimes behind
you, but it is the beauty in the human mind that will provide the magic of growing as a person to get to where you want be.
